The Audi A4 is easily one of most widely loved entry-level sedans in the markets. This has been true for more than 4 decades now, and it also comes as great news for enthusiasts and critics alike, that 2017 Audi A4 will have a completely revamped and re engineered powertrain and chassis framework. As such, 2017 Audi A4 is the 9th generation of this immensely successful sedan, which has sold over 12 million units worldwide since 1972. There is so much about the new version that sets it apart from all competition, and all of this comes down to minute details that go a long way to make this car a force to be reckoned with. Few car makers out there have been able to achieve an evolved engineering with their sedans this year, as Audi has with their 2017 Audi A4 . Even so, engineering evolution is the order of the day for all sedan brands out there since the beginning of this decade. With competent rivals like BMW 3 Series, Cadillac ATS, Buick Regal, and Mercedes-Benz C-class, there is definitely a lot on the plate for 2017 Audi A4 to chew on. Any further talk of competition can be put on hold, and for the moment let’s focus on this next generation and unravel all its changes inside-out.
2017 Audi A4 – Bodyworks
The current design model that all brands under Volkswagen group, including Audi have declared to be using for their new series’ was revealed at Frankfurt Auto Show this year, amidst a lot of hype and media attention. The newly introduced MLB-Evo architecture has won a lot of accolades across motor shows on either sides of the Atlantic, and this will be the basis for 2017 Audi A4’s chassis design.
The resulting body of A4 has been dubbed as the B9 chassis. The design format is refreshingly cutting edge and the evolution of B9 chassis from its previous B8 is ever so subtle hardly catches the eye at first glance.
Beneath all the razor-thin edges and lines that shape the contours of this car, is the fundamental idea to shed unnecessary weight from its body and engine to improve aerodynamics and fuel efficiency. A familiar large hexagonal grill is flanked by trapezoid bi-Xenon headlights and sporty fog lamps.
The headlights have a distinct jagged in-cut on the base, which gives it a unique persona. The overall look that is achieved with the front fascia is perfectly tuned to complement its ultra-sleek and athletic framework. Rear details are impressively suave and the trapezoid rear lamps and tail lights are slimmer and achieve symmetric continuity with its front fascia.
