2017 Chrysler Town and Country

The new 2017 Chrysler Town and Country are set to debut next year as a 2017 year model. It will come as the only minivan from Chrysler. This minivan will be replaced by a three-row crossover. This means that Town & Country will be the only one in the market to fight against the likes of Nissan Quest and Honda Odyssey. This new minivan will be paired at Fiat-Chrysler, it is quite evident that this model will be mainly aimed at those people who are quickly losing interest in such sort of vehicles. This buyer pool is shrinking and the auto manufacturers have to perform really well to gain the attention of these buyers. The modern segment of the minivan was created by Chrysler, so it would be a matter of pride if 2017 Chrysler Town and Country did not perform well in the market.

2017 Chrysler Town and Country  – Cosmetic Changes:

The body of 2017 Chrysler Town and Country is lower than currently running model have. Chrysler is also putting in the effort to make this van look stylish. This is clearly evident from crossover alike taper on the roof. Front fascia will be mostly inspired by Chrysler 200 model. With sleek style, some Dodge elements will no longer be seen in this vehicle.

Body lines and side profile is similar to the concept of Chrysler 700c model. The rear part of this vehicle looks more upscale, as compared to current model. The rear suspension of 2017 Chrysler Town and Country will no longer be using twist beam rear axle, rather a multilink arrangement will be available. It is highly unlikely that a full-width stick axle is there. This can be said because of the suspension components sitting at an angle and the way underbody shielding and exhaust pass beneath the axle.

Interior of this model is very much like what you would expect from a Chrysler vehicle. It has been predicted that it will be inspired by the interior of Dodge Durango. Even though details about the interior is even more unrevealed, the infotainment system, digital instrument cluster and steering wheel of 2017 Chrysler Town and Country will be based on Dodge model. Wood trim is available and it is accompanied by rotary gear selector and metallic accents. Because of the low floor and rear suspension, it is not likely that folding seats will be available. The dashboard will be having Uconnect interface along with 8-inch screen. A digital screen will probably be also added in the instrument cluster.

2017 Chrysler Town and Country – Drivetrain Specification:

So far, it is only known that 2017 Chrysler Town and Country minivan shall be coming with plug-in the hybrid drivetrain. This vehicle belongs to a segment that is not particularly known for offering great powertrain choices. So, availability of a plug-in as an option is unique and certainly quite bold. The rivals of the 2017 Chrysler Town and Country provide only one combination of engine and transmission.

When it comes to the non-hybrid variant of this vehicle, the engine option will largely be dependent on the amount of weight that this minivan will lose. If they are able to reduce a lot of weight, it might use a 4 cylinder turbocharged engine along with 9-speed auto transmission designed by ZF. Otherwise, you should also not be surprised if a Pentastar 3.6 liter V6 engine is offered along with 9-speed transmission unit. Front wheel drive shall be available as standard, while all-wheel drive might be offered optionally.
