The Genesis is a full-size luxury sedan cars manufactured by Hyundai Motors since 2008. The first generation Genesis launched in 2008 across the world, and 2017 Genesis G80 will be its second generation model, and it will be a modification of earlier Genesis vehicles. The second generation model first made its debut in 2013, and it was shown in North American auto shows. In 2015, Hyundai announced that these luxury cars with the brand name of Genesis will be manufactured by its new division named as Genesis motors. The name Genesis indicates the first entry of Hyundai in luxury car segment.
2017 Genesis G80 – Overview
After having sold over 100,000 Genesis model in 18 months after its launch in 2014, the company has decided to launch G80 model will better features. Hyundai announced that there will be six models for the sub-brand Genesis. The Hyundai Equus model will be modified and renamed as Genesis G80 and G90. There will be a small sedan G70; others will include SUV and compact SUV. 2017 Genesis G80 will be a mid-sized sedan.
2017 Genesis G80 – Exterior and Interior
The exterior of G80 is identical with the current Hyundai Genesis sedan with very slight changes. The changes include redesigned bumpers and a jazzy, stylish and impressive grille in the front portion. G80 has 18-inch alloy wheels, and the back side has a sloping finish for better aerodynamics, and its shape resembles that of Toyota Avalon and Audi A7.
The cabin of 2017 Genesis G80 will be larger than its previous versions. Therefore, the vehicle has more leg space and increased comfort level. This vehicle accommodates a total of five passengers.

2017 Genesis G80 – Engine Specification
The present Genesis model has a base engine size of 3.8 liters consisting of 6 cylinders (V6) and 24 valves. The CAM engine type is double overhead CAM (DOHC) with an output of 311 hp. The new 2017 Genesis G80 will have almost same engine configuration; only the output power will be increased to 333 hp. And the higher models have an engine capacity of 5.0 liters with V8 cylinders and 32 valves producing a power of 420 hp.
The new model is expected to have two turbocharged 3.3-liter engines which will give an approximate output of 480 hp. The transmission will be 8-speed automatic type. Hyundai has declared that it will give more details about the specifications during New York Auto Show which is scheduled for March 2016.
The present model gives a mileage of 18 mpg to 29 mpg for the 3.8-liter engine. And the mileage for the5.0L engine is 15 mpg to 23 mpg. The fuel efficiency of 2017 Genesis G80 has not been declared by the company till now.
The new model of Genesis will have various safety features, some of which are anti-lock braking system (ABS), front view and rear view camera, Daytime running lights, Emergency braking assistance, Front and rear head airbags, Notification for airbags deployment, and Tire pressure display. Some innovative features include:

2017 Genesis G80 – Price and Release Date
The 2017 Genesis G80 is expected to launch later in the summer of 2016. Hyundai has not made any official announcement regarding price. The price might be announced in March 2016 during New York Auto Show. Experts believe that the price for starting model will be around $38,000.
