The present model has direct fuel injection, double overhead cam (DOHC), 16 valves, four inline cylinders and 2.0-2.4 liter base engine sizes with both manual and automatic transmission. The new Accord is expected to be available in three engine types with more efficient performance and better mileage.

The three types are 2.4 liters with 185 hp, 2.0-liter inline-4 + 124-kW AC synchronous permanent-magnet electric motor and 3.5 liter V6 type with an output of 278 hp. And the most expensive model will come around $36,000. This Honda hybrid car will tentatively launch in the Asian market by second half of 2016 and Europe, Canada, US can expect its debut by the end of 2016. The new 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid will remain covered by a limited warranty for three years or 36,000 mile whichever occurs first, and there will be a limited powertrain warranty of five years or 60,000 miles.
