Although the upcoming 2017 Kia Rio might lack the refinement of some of its class-leading rivals, it is still a solid choice for anyone shopping in this segment. Why is that so? It is simple, the new Rio has a stylish interior, appealing exterior, and also good engine capabilities. If we take into account that almost every segment in this model is improved, we come to the conclusion why this model is a good option if you are looking for subcompact sedan or hatchback. 2017 Kia Rio – Fantastic Appearance:

The exterior design of the 2017 Kia Rio is very elegant and we can definitely expect some redesigns here. The whole front fascia is refined a bit and it seems more chiselled on the sides. The front grille of this model is very elegant and it has the same shape as in every newest model from Kia, with the small Kia logo above. Also, this grille is connected with the slightly redesigned headlights. Mentioned headlights are powered by the next generation of LED technology. Down low, we can see modified front bumper. This bumper will contain redesigned boomerang shaped fog lights with LED system and also large air intakes in order to improve visibility at nights and also overall performance of the vehicle. At the rear, the taillights will be slightly changed but nothing significantly and the same LED system will power it. We don’t have information about the size of the wheels but we assume that will be 17- or 18- inch large.


The interior design of the most recent 2017 Kia Rio is very elegant and luxurious and a lot of high-quality materials are provided. The comfort is at the top level and all seats inside are wrapped in the leather. Some of the high-quality material inside beside leather is aluminium. Other standard interior features include steering-wheel-with audio controls, power windows and locks, a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, a folding rear bench, a USB port, large touchscreen display with updated infotainment system and many others.

All version of Kia Rio 2017 including subcompact sedan and hatchback are powered by a 1.6-liter inline-4 that is capable of generating up to 138 hp at 6,300 rpm as well as 123 lb-ft of torque at 4,850 rpm. The standard versions are mated to a six-speed manual transmission while the higher trims are offered with six-speed automatic transmission. The drive type for all Rio models is front wheel drive. According to EPA, the fuel consumption of this model is rated at 27/38 mpg with the manual and 27/37 mpg with automatic transmission system – City/Highway. Also, we can expect Idle Stop & Go feature that cuts the engine at stoplights, but at a price of $1,200. The fuel economy with this feature is rated at 28/37 mpg in the City/Highway.
