2017 Mini Clubman – First impression:
The most recent 2017 Mini Clubman will hit the market with perfect appearance. Its exterior design is very appealing and everything here is perfectly fitted. First of all, we need to say that this model is longer than (two-doors) Cooper Hardtop for 17.2 inches and almost 11 inches longer than the same model with four doors. The exterior design is slightly modified but nothing too much notable.
The front fascia will contain well known rounded headlights (LED-powered) from Mini. The front bumper is modified and here we can notice small fog lights that are very helpful in foggy condition, but also in the rain. The front grille will remain the same as before. Also, besides fog lights, the front bumper will contain large air intakes as well. Rear barn doors are still there. At the sides, this model will ride on nicely designed alloy wheels (16-inch standard and 17-inch optional)
The interior design of the 2017 Mini Clubman is very elegant and also very spacious. The cabin is able of accommodating up to five passengers thanks to the extended wheelbase. All seats are very supportive and the high-quality leather wraps it. In order to improve entertainment in the cabin, the new 2017 Mini Clubman will have a surround system with six speakers.
Some of the other interior features include dual-zone climate control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, smartphone app integration, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth, USB port, updated Mini Connected infotainment system, a multi-color ambient lighting, and many others. The second generation of Clubman (Cooper) is equipped by 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-3 that is capable of delivering 134 hp at 4,400 rpm and 162 lb-ft of torque at 1,250 rpm. This engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission system. According to EPA, the fuel consumption with this engine is rated at 25/35 mpg with the manual and 25/34 mpg with automatic transmission – City/Highway.
Second engine available for (Cooper S) is 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 with 189 hp at 5,000 rpm and 207 lb-ft of torque at 1,250 rpm. This engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a new 8-speed automatic. According to EPA, fuel economy with this engine is rated at 22/32 mpg with the manual and 24/34 mpg with automatic transmission – City/Highway.
