Sports car market will see the most unlikely result of two automobile heavyweight’s amalgamation in the form of 2017 Toyota Supra. German car maker BMW and Japanese partner for this venture Toyota will join hands to work together upon making a new platform which in all probability will replace BMW’s Z4 platform which will eventually be used by Toyota for 2017 Toyota Supra. We have particularly zeroed in on some major engine specifications and redesigns. Let’s have a look.
2017 Toyota Supra – Engine Changes
It is a brainteaser for a car conceptualized as sports car. With BMW as one of the makers, it can well add a 4 inline 2.0 liter turbocharged engine and merge with three versions i.e. 190 hp, 245 hp and 270 hp. Some also assume that a V6 engine or an engine with four cylinders is also on the cards. In that scenario, the first engine will yield 400 hp whereas the second engine can produce 520 hp.
This car will have six speed manual transmissions and eight speed automatic transmission to choose from as per choice for engines. With such an engine set up it can past 0-60 mph within mere 3.6 seconds. Higher speed limit will also surpass standard 190 mph mark. Possibility of including both AWD and RWD engine layout cannot be ruled out either. Impressive as that sounds, it can also set standards for other hybrid vehicles.
2017 Toyota Supra – Redesign Exterior and Interior
Futuristic is perhaps the only word to define 2017 Toyota Supra. Extensive carbon fiber usage to reduce weight is expected along with streamlined detailing. Other materials serving the cause in weight reduction includes HSS and premium quality aluminum. But the biggest ground breaking induction will be that of a duo of exhaust pipes. Going by concept model look, F1 look will be accentuated by thinner edges and superior slim headlights of LED technology. Concept model also suggests alloy wheels’ use measuring 19 inches for front and 20 inches rear wheels. Dual exhausting pipes will not only enhance inter-cooling system but will also give the look of F1 model.
Speaking strictly in terms of numbers 2017 Toyota Supra has a length of 4500 mm, width measuring 1840 mm and height of 1340 mm. An indispensable in any hybrid car is wheelbase which is more than impressive 2500 mm in this 2017 version.
In order to give a driving experience of a futuristic car in every sense, 2017 Toyota Supra will do away with analog interior car control systems i.e. less use in button operated mechanics. Concept model’s snapshot reveal a 10 inch touch screen to control maneuverability and other internal refinement options though steering does house a few buttons including one for ignition. The seemingly fragile brake and accelerator paddles are made of alloy. This two seat sports car has stylish and comfortable leather seats and other upholsterer. Seat design is pretty much in sync with the overall look.
After taking into account it seems that majority of changes have been made for its exteriors from BMW’s light weight vehicle concept.
2017 Toyota Supra – Release Date and Price
Price is currently unknown, but is expected to be about $ $ 55,000. Release date will be in late 2016 or early 2017.
