The 2018 Chevy Bolt is also known as Chevrolet Bolt EV and in a European country, it will be marketed as Opel Ampera. It is an electric crossover vehicle manufactured by the American automaker company Chevrolet. Production of Bolt will start at the end of 2016 at the Orion assembly plant. And the production of the European version will commence from 2017.
The concept of the bolt was disclosed by the company during 2015 North American International Auto Show. After that in consumer electronics show in Las Vegas, the production model of Bolt was displayed for the first time.
Confusion with name:
The company has accepted that there has been confusion among customers with similar sounding names. The two vehicles manufactured by Chevrolet are known as Bolt and Volt respectively. Chevrolet has decided to keep the name Bolt unchanged.
A similar confusion is also there in the European market with Opel Ampera (the previous model of Chevrolet Volt) and Opel Ampera-e.
