2018 GMC Terrain Review

The manufacturer will be updating the vehicle in the near future and will be released as 2018 GMC Terrain. The new Terrain is actually a re-engineered version of the current Chevy Equinox. The design will be ditching the previous outdated interior styling for a modern design. You should also expect an elegant sportier outlook in replacement of the former chopped exterior design. The GMC has also borrowed some design ideas from Chevy Cruze model. The 2018 GMC Terrain will be offered in five trims, including SL, SLE-1, SLE-2, SLT and Denali levels.

2018 GMC Terrain – Design Changes:

The mid-size SUV is designed under the luxurious GMC design language. It is built in D2XX platform and resembles the recently launched Acadia. It is quite smaller than its predecessor when it comes to exterior dimensions. The 2018 GMC Terrain appears entirely different a raked windshield. The low-lying roof slopes gently before starting to rise towards the C-pillar. Its exterior body is styled in a curvaceous and features lightweight designing. With the adoption of a combination of aluminum and lightweight carbon materials, the new GMC Terrain will be capable of achieving enhanced aerodynamic performance and better fuel mileages. The front end features a more prominent grille and revised bumper. However, you should expect revised air vents for better engine cooling. The compact crossover features nicely designed LED headlights and taillights. The rear end also adopts a new elegant spoiler which will be mounted in the tailgate.


Inside the car, it comes with a more spacious and comfortable cabin with multiple modern infotainment features and technological equipment. Among the standard features include premium air conditioner, 4G LTE, automatic climate control, CarPlay/Google Auto connectivity, smartphone integration, satellite navigation and others. The spacious interior provides occupants with sufficient legroom and also headroom. Most of the car’s interior cabin sections adopt quality aluminum and premium wood trimming while the seats are upholstered using genuine leather materials. You should also expect a quality sound system with USB port interface, Bluetooth connectivity, HD satellite radio, and CD/MP3/MP4 player among others. The 2018 GMC Terrain is very efficient in safety and driver assistance with features such as standard 10 airbag system, multiple safety belts, line-departure warning system, blind-spot monitoring system, parking assists, and others.

2018 GMC Terrain – Under the Hood:

Under the hood, the standard engine that will be powering the new GMC Terrain is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder Ecotec engine which delivers 182 horsepower. It will be mated to 8-speed automatic transmission. An upscale version will be offered with a 3.6-liter Ecotec engine with an output of up to 301 horsepower. The 3.6-liter turbocharged drivetrain unit will be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission system which is routed to a standard all-wheel drive.

2018 GMC Terrain – Expected Date of Arrival and Price:

The end of next year or beginning of 2018 are a possible release date for the upcoming GMC Terrain. The base model goes for about $24,070 while the higher Denali trim level will be priced around $35.000.
