The recently developed 2018 Mini Countryman will hit the dealerships very soon. This second generating of Countryman will be the largest Mini model so far. Everything on this model will be improved, but the most notable change is certainly the change in the dimension. The newly 2018 Mini Countryman will be wider, longer and the wheelbase will be stretched. That is great news for all Mini fans, and they will finally have some vehicle where they can enjoy even if they have a lot of kids. So, this is we can clearly say family model, and it will come on the market most likely in the second half of next year. We say most likely because this information is not officially confirmed by the Company.
2018 Mini Countryman – Elegance Design:
The exterior design of the 2018 Mini Countryman is significantly changed, and at the first glance, it is notable that this is a quite bigger model than the previous one. Thanks to the stretched wheelbase, the cabin will be more spacious, and consequently, there will be more legroom for the passengers, especially for those at the rear seats. When it comes to exterior dimension details we have to say that the length will be 8.1 inches longer, the body will be 1.3 inches wider, while the wheelbase will be stretched for around 5 inches. Some other specific details from the outside are a bit revised front fascia.
The grille, despite the slight redesigns, will be still recognizable. The headlights are a bit bigger, but the shape is the same. The LED technology will be new, and it will be used by all the lighting. Under the grille, we can see more muscular front bumper equipped with the large air intakes as well as with the large fog lights. At the sides, this model will provide large aluminum wheels, but its size is not known yet.
The interior design of the future 2018 Mini Countryman will certainly provide better comfort thanks to the longer wheelbase. Now, the passengers on the rear seats will have quite enough legroom. More precisely, we can expect 3.8 inches more legroom. Also, the seats are very comfortable and well shaped. We can expect leather as standard upholstery materials for the seats and for the steering wheel. The dashboard of this model will also remain the same as before, but the infotainment system will be most likely upgraded. Some of the available standard interior features will include adaptive cruise control, dual zone climate control, four spoke steering wheel, a lot of safety systems and connectivity options, excellent audio system and many others as well.
2018 Mini Countryman – Powertrain Variants:
The next 2018 Mini Countryman will be powered by the three engines. The first one is a 1.6-liter inline-4 engine. This engine has the max power output of 121 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 114 lb-ft of torque at 4,250 rpm. According to EPA, we can expect fuel consumption of 27/34 mpg (manual), 25/30 mpg (automatic). The second engine will be a 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-4 that will have the capability of generating up to 181 horsepower at 5,500 rpm as well as 177 lb-ft of torque at 1,600-5,000 rpm. And the third engine options will be the same 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-4, but upgraded with the max power output of 208 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 192 lb-ft of torque at 1,900-5,000 rpm.
We don’t have EPA rated of the second and third engine. When it comes to the transmission system, the engines will be mated to a 6-speed manual Getrag transmission. The optional transmission will be 6-spped automatic.
2018 Mini Countryman – Possible Arrival Date and Price:
The release date of the recently developed 2018 Mini Countryman will be sometime in the second half of next year. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) will start at $23,600.
