The 2018 Toyota Supra is coming in less than a year and a half. One of the most iconic and famous Japanese cars in the tuner segment is making a comeback, and in this article, you will find all you need to know about its price, performance, and design.
2018 Toyota Supra – Beautiful Design:
Although it has not been publicly announced or released yet, the 2018 Toyota Supra has been spotted being tested at the Nürburgring race track in Germany. The car features a completely redesigned exterior, with a much more aggressive general aesthetic. The new model sits much closer to the ground and sports beautiful 19″ rims.
In the interior, the driver-focused design is perfectly represented. All the controls for the main functions are situated on the steering wheel. Which is made of a nice blend of leather and fiber. The same exotic material selection carries through the entire interior featuring leather seats and carbon fiber in the front dash too. Apart from providing this exotic and beautiful look, the carbon fiber also provides weight savings and great resistance. The infotainment system seems to be composed of a single small screen behind the steering wheel. This might indicate that the main focus of the car is performance and performance only.
2018 Toyota Supra – Engine and Performance:
The new 2018 Toyota Supra will come in two variants, a hybrid variant, and a gasoline variant. Inside sources from Toyota confirm that the gasoline model is going to weight at around 2,866 pounds. The hybrid variant will be much heavier, at 3,300 pounds. This 400-pound increase in weight will probably mean worse cornering capabilities, but its electric motors will most likely provide the extra power needed to make up for it. The Supra is being in part developed by BMW, who are in charge of designing the chassis and suspension while Toyota will provide the hybrid system and the weight reduction technologies.
The hybrid model will provide around 400 HP coming from a BMW turbocharged engine and Toyota’s Hybrid system. The gasoline engine, on the other hand, will be a V6. This kind of power, combined with the low weight will surely mean 0-60 mph of about 5,5 seconds. The top speed is expected to be 186 mph.
2018 Toyota Supra – Market Release and Price:
There is still no word on when exactly the car will hit the market. It is expected to come near the middle to the end of 2018. The price is expected to be at around $70,000 for the more powerful models.
