2018 VW Tiguan US

The Volkswagen Tiguan is a compact crossover SUV. It made its debut in 2007 and till 2011, it was sold to more than 700,000 customers in Europe, US, China, Brazil, Russia and Australia. Tiguan is a combination of two German words meaning Tiger and Iguana. The 2018 VW Tiguan will be the latest second generation SUV model manufactured by Volkswagen.

2018 VW Tiguan – Overview:

Same version of Tiguan with different model names is available in various countries. In the US, the versions are S, SE, and SEL. In UK model names are S, Match, Sport, and Escape. Trend line, Comfort line, Highline in Canada. In other parts of the world, trim levels include Sport and Style, Trend and Fun, and Track and Field.


Although the report forms Volkswagen claimed to bring out few changes but still it is hard to predict the actual changes. The 2018 VW Tiguan may have the different features like large touch screen display with optional navigation, interactive display which will also show the vehicle condition, head-up display, more space and better legroom, leather seats and leather steering wheel, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, voice activation Navigation system, external temperature display, compass, tachometer, multi-level heating passenger and driver seat.


The upcoming 2018 VW Tiguan is a perfect combination of previous models like Cross Blue Coupe and old Tiguan variants. It will have a sporty look with firm and powerful body structure with smooth curves and edges. With an extended nose, it looks more elegant and sophisticated. The car will not be very heavy because the construction material used is aluminum and carbon fiber.

The nose part will have a powerful and elegant grille with big headlights for better visibility and attraction. The car may be available in colors like black pearl, blue metallic, gray metallic, wild cherry metallic, silver metallic and pure white.

Space Advantage:

The main selling point of Tiguan has been the upscale interior and regarding space, it is better than some of its rival. Interior will have approximately 58.5 cubic feet of cargo and passenger space, and the US model may have even bigger space. In some models, the car might have three rows of seats. Interior color will be beige leatherette, black leatherette and combination of black and beige leatherette.

2018 VW Tiguan – Engine and Fuel Economy:

The 2018 VW Tiguan is expected to have same engine configuration like its previous models only the mileage might increase a little bit. There will be 2.0 liters turbocharged engine with four inline cylinders with a power of 200 hp and 6-speed automatic transmission system.

The vehicle will be available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The new model will give an average mileage of 22 mpg across city and 27 mpg on the highway. Previous models had an almost same fuel economy of 20 mpg to 26 mpg.

Like earlier models 2018 VW Tiguan will also have 4-wheel drive option for specific models. A rotary knob is there under the gear lever which allows choosing between driving modes. This gives Tiguan an added advantage for off-road driving and tuning can be done according to different terrain and weather condition.

The vehicle is expected to make its grand release in September 2017. The approximate prices of the new models are as follows:
