The 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 diesel has been spied several times last month, while it was checking out its new abilities. This pickup truck will reportedly be introduced early next year at the 2018 Detroit auto show. This means that the redesigned truck should be in the final phase of development right now.
The Chevrolet has made a number of changes for the 2019 Silverado model. This redesigned pickup should bring more quality on the table.
2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Changes:
Judging by the information we have, the 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 diesel will ride on a new platform. The architecture won’t be too different. However, it will enable more options under the hood and will make the truck significantly lighter. The weight-saving will happen due to the usage of lighter materials, but the truck won’t receive a big amount of aluminum as Ford implemented into the current F-150.
2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 Engine Options:
That doesn’t mean that this pickup would lack behind the rivals. No, the producer will offer a range of very efficient engines. More precisely, the current 4.3-liter is improved. However, it will also host a new four-cylinder powertrain as well. The four-pot mill will rely on turbocharged technology, which should squeeze out around 272 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of twist from the unit.
In addition, the redesigned half-ton pickup will also get two V8 options, while some reports indicate there will be two oil-burners as well.
The base diesel option is upgraded 2.8-liter four-cylinder engine, while the more potent option will be either a Navistar 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder or a 4.5-liter diesel V6. Most of the engines will be paired to an eight-speed auto gearbox, though there will be optional 10-speed transmission too.
2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 Price:
The 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 will keep its base price below $30,000. However, the topper will go over $60,000.
All in all, this will probably be a most wanted 2019 pickup truck.
